Dr. Michael Certa is the practice owner here at Coastal Animal Clinic. In 2015, he purchased the clinic from Dr. Juan Molina , who is still practicing with us today. Dr. Certa was originally born in Chicago, IL. He moved with his family to Valdosta, Georgia at the age of 10 where he grew up and completed his undergraduate studies. He then moved to Gainesville, Florida and attended the University of Florida where he met his lovely wife. They both graduated from veterinary school in 2008. He and his wife then relocated to Pinellas County where they were soon married and started a family. They have a son, Edison, who is 6 years old and a daughter, Ella, who is 4 years old. He enjoys spending time with his family, boating, fishing, camping and, of course, Gator football! Dr. Certa is excited to provide for your furry kids with exceptional medical & surgical skills, along with compassionate care.
Dr. Molina worked with the Argentine Army with the war dog breeding/training facility before he was promoted to Captain. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Molina knows how to treat pets and works at clinic 2 days a week.
Kim graduated from school as a Veterinary Assistant at the Institute of Animal Arts in Winter Park Florida. She is married and has a son. Together they own 3 dogs (Snuffy, Pig, Bella) and a cat (Frank), all of whom are rescues. Kim and her husband own Mouse's Sunset Tattoo and enjoy boating and motorcycling in their free time.

Roxanne has been a veterinary technician and groomer for over 20 years. After working here many years, she decided to fully be a groomer. Jose and his wife are originally from Puebla, Mexico. He has lived in the Tampa Bay area for 14 years. His family moved from Chicago to St. Petersburg for its beautiful weather! Jose has worked with small animals for over 20 years and loves it! While in Chicago, he worked at an animal hospital for 6 years. Here in the Tampa Bay area, Jose worked at the Tampa Bay Emergency Clinic for a couple of years and at Andes Animal Hospital (now Coastal Animal Hospital) for the past 14 years. Jose is married and has 3 lovely daughters. He has 2 Labrador dogs, named Kyle and Camila. In his free time, he likes to go kayaking and running.
Ashley moved to Florida in 2010 from Chicago, Illinois. She has her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and her Animal Control Certificate from SPC. She is finishing her second year of the Vet Tech Program with SPC and is expected to graduate in May. She has two cats (Tiger & Jasmine) and two dogs (Jax & Hallie). In her spare time, Ashley enjoys the beach or engaging in charity events with her friends, along with their dogs.
Alex has been working with our furry friends for over five years, also from Ohio. Alex has a cat called Winston. He takes pride in the care he provides and wants to ensure both pets and their owners are comfortable. He has a passion for wildlife and the natural sciences. Alex is an avid bird watcher when he finds the free time.
Kelly has been working with fur-babies for over ten years. She is also from Ohio, although she spent most of her life living between Indiana and Florida. She owns a tenacious cat named “Psycho” who lives up to her name. Kelly loves familiarizing herself with patients and their “parents” to make everyone feel welcomed when coming to our clinic. Outside of work, she loves going to the beach, pool, or park with her daughter Haylee.
Heather was born in Arlington, Texas. She moved to Florida at a young age and has lived here in Pinellas County since. In May, 2016, she graduated from St. Petersburg College with her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. She became a certified Veterinary Technician in August, 2016. She has two dogs, Copper and Keyla, and a cat named Binx. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling. In her spare time, you can find her curled up with her fur babies, a cup of tea, and a book in hand.
Andrea was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She now resides in Safety Harbor, FL. She has always had the desire to work with animals since she was a little girl. When she moved to Florida, she was excited to start a new career involved with the medical care and well being of animals. She graduated from St. Petersburg College with an A.S. Degree in Veterinary Technology in May 2016. She then passed her exam and became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). In her free time she likes to dance, play table tennis, jog and explore the outdoors. She is also fluent in Spanish.
